Bradford Foote
“Being able to participate in the latest campaign for the GH Foundation was a great experience. I wanted to join this campaign because I feel that many people take their health for granted these days. Society has everyone so busy with everyday life that sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. This past year showed me that no matter how good you feel there can still be something going wrong inside of your body. I hope this campaign inspires people to examine their health and stay on top of any medical issues or regular doctor appointments.” -Bradford

Kaitlyn Gage
“For years, I struggled with an unexplained skin reaction. I saw multiple dermatologists, but no one could pinpoint the cause. It wasn’t until I was preparing for graduate school that I pushed for further testing, and I was diagnosed with celiac disease. While I was relieved to finally have an answer, I had no idea how much my gut health had been affected. Cutting out gluten was just the beginning. I was living across the country with a new diet and school. My gut was so inflamed that even small amounts of cross-contamination triggered painful bloating and digestive distress. I knew that I had to adhere to this diet since my mom also has celiac disease. Managing celiac disease requires constant awareness; even with the smallest cross-contamination, I will suffer for hours. For anyone newly diagnosed, I want to say that healing is possible, and you’re not alone. With the right approach, you can regain control of your health and feel like yourself again.” -Kaitlyn

Natalia Masnica
“Living with IBS has taught me the importance of open conversations about gut health. I’ve found that sharing my experiences encourages others to open up, creating a sense of understanding and support. Simple moments—like friends considering restaurants with options I can eat—show how awareness leads to empathy.
Partnering with the GH Foundation and learning about its mission inspired me to establish the GH Foundation on Campus at Northwestern University. Through this initiative, I’ve had the opportunity to break the stigma surrounding gastrointestinal health and create a space where people feel comfortable discussing their gut issues—even if it starts with a lighthearted question like, “Did you poop today?” What began as a simple conversation starter has led to meaningful connections, with friends and peers opening up and even reaching out to share their experiences.“ -Natalia

“I will never forget the incredible experience of traveling to Chicago to participate in the GH Foundation campaign shoot for gut health and the stigma surrounding it. From the moment I arrived, the energy of the city and the passion of everyone involved made this experience unforgettable. Walking into the studio, I was met with a team of professionals who were not just experts in their fields but also deeply committed to raising awareness about gut health. It was inspiring to see how much thought and care went into every detail—from the creative direction to the messaging, ensuring we captured images and told real, powerful stories that would make an impact. One of my most profound moments was meeting others with similar gut health struggles. We shared our journeys—the challenges, the frustrations, and ultimately, the triumphs of overcoming stigma. There was a sense of unity and empowerment in the room. It reminded me that this campaign was about more than just a video shoot; it was about giving a voice to an issue that affects many yet remains widely misunderstood. The GH Foundation team ensured that every participant felt comfortable, celebrated, and heard. I left Chicago feeling grateful for the opportunity to be part of something meaningful and inspired to continue advocating for gut health awareness in my community. This experience reinforced how crucial it is to break the silence surrounding gut health struggles and to create spaces where people can share their stories without fear of judgment. The campaign is not just about education—it’s about fostering compassion, understanding, and support for those navigating these challenges. I am honored to have been part of this movement, and I cannot wait to see the impact of the GH Foundation’s work in changing lives and perceptions around gut health. Chicago will always hold a special place in my heart because of this experience, and I am so grateful to have been part of something truly transformative.” -Larissa
